Going Paperless in Construction – Digital Client Contract Management with Fluid Contract Manager

One of the main drivers of developing Fluid Contract Manager, was that we truly believed that we could develop a tool that would help your average owner or contractor simplify their paperwork process. A major component of this was allowing for contracts to be posted in a secure system in the cloud that could be accessed by any mobile device.

So we ended up creating just that, a Client Contract tab that allows you to post your contracts in the system and find it easily along with any attachments. We also tied the contract to a schedule of values (SOV), so you could track contract information by cost code as well as bill digitally. Change orders are added to the SOV automatically in the system.

Finally, we added the ability to sign off on documents digitally in the system. Fluid CM uses email to send links to the documents so they can be sent quickly and effortlessly. It allow for owners, general contractors, A/E teams and subcontractors to be able to have (controlled) access to their contract information but not see others information without the right permissions. It also gives the crews in the field access to this information. This has been the first step in digitizing the construction process, with many more steps to come.
